NGRREC Receives Public Engagement Award

(pictured left to right) Mr. Bill Kruidenier, associate director for NGRREC, Dr. Dale Chapman, President of Lewis and Clark Community College and NGRREC Board Chair, and  Dr. Gary Rolfe, executive director for NGRREC, accept the Campus Award for Excellence in Public Engagement from UI Chancellor Bob Easter at a reception that took place on on February 2 at Beckman Institute. NGRREC, one of seven projects nominated for the award was lauded for its outstanding activities toward civic engagement. Review Committee chair Nancy O'Brien, head of the Education and Social Science Library stated "This year's award winners were notable in the broad impact of their work."  Committee members also reviewed letters of support from communities and individials affected by the project, a process O'Brien called "definitely inspiring."  To view nomination packet click here.
