Goals
1. Build a financial base to fund the
continuing operations of the Center.
2. Secure the necessary capital and
complete construction of the field station.
3. Secure the necessary capital and
complete construction of the education center.
4. Build / publish a corpus of
research and scholarship (“product”) that is noteworthy for its
quality and value.
5. Build a solid and mutually
beneficial foundation of cooperative relationships with other river
stakeholders that serve as a model for collaboration.
6. Establish highly effective
educational programs that are closely integrated with the research and
outreach missions.
7. Secure at least one major grant or
contract for mission-related studies and / or services.
8. Create a high-level awareness of
the Center and its expertise / programs among key river stakeholders
and the scientific community worldwide.
9. Through educational, outreach, and
other activities, demonstrate measurable improvements or other
positive outcomes in river management and sustainability.
10. Build a Center organization that
is efficient and effective in the critical functions of research,
education, outreach, administration, development, and communications.
11. Complete and implement a detailed
strategic plan.
